Car and bag hanging incense beads

Three to five sandalwood-led beads on a knotted cord with a tassel, made to swing from a rear-view mirror or a bag zipper. The formula is kept free of synthetic oils because a parked car is a harsh place for incense.

A hanging made for harder conditions

Car and bag hanging incense beads are a small strand of three to five hand-rolled beads, tied with a decorative knot and finished with a tassel. They share their dough with the sandalwood bracelet line, but the design thinking is different. A bracelet sits on a wrist at body temperature. A car charm sits in a glass cabin that can pass 60 degrees Celsius on a summer afternoon, while a bag charm is knocked against keys and zippers all day. The line is built around those two facts: a heat-tolerant formula, and a cord and knot that survive movement.

Formula notes: why no synthetic oils

Many commercial car scents rely on fragrance oils that evaporate fast in heat, can leave a film on glass and turn harsh when the cabin warms. The standard specification here uses none. Scent comes from sandalwood powder with a small agarwood accent, bound with nanmu bark powder and a little honey. No synthetic oils and no industrial glue are part of the standard version, confirmed in writing per order.

Heat and sun in a car

A natural bead is not a sealed object. In a hot cabin it dries faster, may develop hairline cracks and fades in color if left in direct sun. Practical advice for the card or insert:

  • Hang the strand where the windshield sun does not hit it for hours, or take it down when the car is parked in the sun.
  • Keep it away from air vents blowing hot air and from the dashboard surface.
  • In winter or in a shaded garage the scent stays steady for longer, and the beads tolerate it well.
  • When swapping, store the strand in a sealed pouch; the scent persists for years with proper storage.

Partner workshops can also supply a slightly denser bead, dried longer, for programs aimed at hot climates. Ask for it as a sample variation.

Structure: beads, knot and tassel

The usual layout is a top knot or a clip, three to five beads with knots between them, a decorative Chinese knot, and a tassel. Cords are polyester or cotton, 1.0 to 2.0 mm, chosen to match the hole size of 1.2 to 2.0 mm so that the knot fills the hole and the beads do not rattle. Bead sizes of 8, 10 and 12 mm are the most common, and the weight of a finished piece is about 3 to 10 grams. A metal clip with a lobster claw suits bags; a loop with a slide suits mirrors. Metal parts should be declared by material, and plating is checked against the rules of the target market.

Bag charm and accessory use

For bags, the same strand shortens to 8 to 15 cm and often drops to three beads. Brands sell it as a charm for handbags, backpacks, key rings and phone straps. Because the beads are small and light, they can also be paired with a tablet from the tablet pendant line to make a charm with a scented plaque as the focal point.

Customization

  • Bead size and count. Choose 3, 4 or 5 beads in a single size or graduated.
  • Tassel and knot color. Match the brand palette; red, black, cream and indigo are the common choices.
  • Hang tags and cards. Print a care note on the card: shade, sealed storage, no water.
  • Retail packs. Small kraft or window boxes with a velvet pouch inside; see packaging and gift boxes.

Inspection and ordering

Each lot is checked for bead diameter and weight, hole centering, knot security, tassel finish, surface cracks or mold spots, and scent against the retained sample. The inspection sequence is on the testing and inspection page. Stock hangings typically start at 100-300 pieces per design and branded versions at about 300-1,000. Samples of stock designs take 5-10 working days. These are reference ranges confirmed in writing for each program, and requests go through the quote form.

Questions buyers ask

Is it safe to hang in a hot car?

The formula has no synthetic oils, so there is nothing to bloom on glass, but heat still dries the beads. Hang the strand out of long direct sun and remove it from a closed car in peak summer for the longest life.

Does the scent last in a car?

It is gentler than oil-based car fresheners. The scent is released slowly from the wood and lasts for years with proper storage when the strand is kept sealed between uses.

Can the strand be used on a bag or key ring?

Yes. Shorter lengths of 8-15 cm with a clip or ring are standard. Share the hardware you prefer and the desk will confirm hole size and cord diameter on a sample.

Can I choose the tassel and knot colors?

Yes. Colors are matched to your brand palette from the workshop thread range, or to a supplied swatch, and approved on the sample before the run.

What is the minimum order?

Typically 100-300 pieces per stock design and about 300-1,000 per branded design, confirmed in writing for each program. See MOQ and lead time.

Send the lines you need, the bead size, the quantity per design and your market. The desk replies in writing with sample options, the formula sheet and the reference MOQ.
