RV-00Ouvare incense bead sourcing desk

Hand-rolled incense beads from the Chinese incense clusters, with the formula on the sheet

Ouvare is an incense bead sourcing desk. We coordinate partner incense workshops, bead ateliers and packing houses in the Fujian and Guangdong incense clusters, write down the composition of every line, check each lot before it ships and turn a brief into samples.

One desk for the whole incense bead range

12 lines

Most buyers start with one bracelet and quickly need more: a fragrance brand that launches sandalwood beads is asked for an agarwood version; a yoga studio that sells bracelets wants 108-bead strands; a gift buyer needs the bracelet and sachet set in a box with a card. Running each item through a different workshop means different formulas, different drying habits and no single record when a lot smells different from the sample.

This desk keeps the range in one place: bead bracelets, pendants and charms, incense sticks and tools, loose beads and custom formulas. One formula sheet per line, one inspection record per lot, one person accountable for the program.

Lines by category

4 categories

Each line page carries its formula sheet: composition by weight, the seven steps every bead goes through, and the specification a workshop will ask about - bead size, count, weight and scent profile. Start with what an incense bead is if the category is new to you.

Clusters, not a catalogue

Fujian and Guangdong

Chinese incense making is concentrated in a few places: Yongchun in Fujian, named a national incense capital, with close to 300 incense companies and an industry chain reported above RMB 14 billion in 2024; Xianyou, also in Fujian, where the Bangtou township is the country's main wooden bead and bracelet base; and Dianbai in Guangdong, the agarwood hometown with an industry chain reported at roughly RMB 4-7 billion depending on scope. Hand-rolled incense beads come from small ateliers in and around these clusters, because the steps after milling are still done by hand. The desk shortlists ateliers per formula and per bead size rather than routing everything to one supplier. See industry clusters and how workshops are audited.

Checked, then shipped

per lot

Incense bead quality shows up in things you can measure and smell: bead diameter and weight against the sheet, hole size and centering, surface cracks and mold spots, hardness under the thumb, and the scent compared with the retained sample. Humidity is the enemy, so every lot is checked for dryness before it is sealed. The inspection plan is agreed before production and the record goes out with the lot. Read quality control and testing and inspection.

Materials you can stand behind

origin per lot

Agarwood (Aquilaria) is listed in CITES Appendix II, so agarwood beads ship with export documents per lot. Sandalwood (Santalum album) is not CITES-listed but India restricts exports of the wood, so most legal supply today is plantation wood from Western Australia; the origin of the sandalwood in a lot is stated rather than hidden behind the trade name Laoshan. Beads are bound with nanmu bark powder and a little honey, not industrial glue, and carry no synthetic fragrance oils in the standard specification. Read the agarwood guide, the sandalwood guide and compliance, or send the brief to the quote form.

Send the lines you need, the bead size, the quantity per design and your market. The desk replies in writing with sample options, the formula sheet and the reference MOQ.
